Expense Deductibility

Expenses such as capital outlays, personal expenses and discretionary expenses fall in a "grey area" of tax where there may be no specific legislation and the jurisprudence could be conflicting, which can cause disputes with CRA and the taxpayer. Therefore, it is important to understand what CRA's position is on certain types of expenses. This course will focus in on such conversations between the client and the advisor and provide some guidance on how to best approach these sensitive issues.
