Tax Audits: Best Practices (Income Tax and GST/HST)

Tax audits can be a daunting and overwhelming event for many taxpayers. This seminar will provide helpful tips to help you navigate a tax audit. It will cover best practices on responding to requests for information, preparing for and attending interviews, working with CRA auditors, and setting up the taxpayer for success in a potential objection or Tax Court appeal. Topics will also include the CRA’s newly expanded audit powers to compel oral interviews, handling unnamed persons requirements, and when retaining legal counsel may be advisable.
