On June 9, 2022 Bill C-8 received Royal Assent making the Underused Housing Tax Act law and effective January 1, 2022. With the first filing deadline rapidly approaching (this April 30, 2023) you might be asking whether or not this applies to any of your clients? The short answer is, most likely.
